TRIO Student Support Services

TRIO Student Support Services at Middlesex College is a federally funded program designed to help eligible students succeed in college, stay on track toward graduation, and prepare for what comes next.

TRIO provides personalized advising, academic support, career development, financial literacy, and opportunities that help students make the most of their college experience.

There is no cost to participate in TRIO Student Support Services for students who qualify. 

As a TRIO student, you will have access to a dedicated support system throughout your time at Middlesex College. Our team works with you to identify your goals, connect you with resources, navigate challenges, and prepare for your next step.

Am I Eligible? 

To be eligible for TRIO Student Support Services, students must meet federal citizenship or residency requirements, be enrolled as an undergraduate student at Middlesex College, demonstrate a need for academic support, and meet at least one of the following:

• Be a first-generation college student (neither parent/guardian completed a bachelor’s degree) 
• Meet federal limited-income guidelines (according to federal income guidelines)
• Have a documented disability (is registered with the Center for Accessibility and Disability Resources)

TRIO Student Expectations 

Once accepted into TRIO Student Support Services, students are expected to remain actively engaged in the program.

TRIO students are expected to:

• Meet at least three times a semester with their assigned TRIO advisor
• Participate in TRIO workshops and activities
• Utilize academic and campus resources
• Complete the FAFSA each academic year, when applicable
• Work toward their academic, career, and transfer goals
