Constitution Day, also known as Citizenship Day, is a federally recognized observance that commemorates the signing of the United States Constitution on September 17, 1787. This day honors the thirty-nine delegates to the Constitutional Convention who created the foundational document of the United States and recognizes all who have become U.S. citizens by birth or naturalization.
In May 2005, the U.S. Department of Education made it compulsory publicly funded institutions to observe Constitution Day annually.
As a recipient of federal funding, Middlesex College proudly commemorates Constitution Day by providing a variety of educational opportunities and programs for our students. All events are advertised to students using media campaigns and are posted to Canvas.
