Theft

An individual reported to police that he left his backpack in the lounge area of College Center unattended for several minutes. Upon his return, the backpack was no longer there. Inside the backpack was a laptop and allegedly a large sum of money. The suspect was seen on surveillance camera taking the backpack and the victim was able to identify the suspect but only by nickname. The victim made contact with the suspect via a phone application and the suspect stated that the backpack would be returned at a later time. At some point later in the day, the victim was able to retrieve his backpack off-campus but the laptop and monies were no longer inside. #24MC00060 – Open Case.
