Theft by Deception

An individual reported to police that he was approached by three subjects asking for donations. The victim offered a sum of money. After reconsidering his donation and requesting the monies be returned, one of the subjects grabbed the victim’s cellphone and attempted to withdraw monies from his Venmo account. The victim retrieved his phone but did not get his initial donation back. The subjects ran and took off in a white/gray van. #2023-00212823 – Closed C.
