Fraud

While browsing the computer, a faculty member was redirected to a fraudulent Microsoft website which claimed that her computer was hacked and to contact an individual named David William. Mr. William advised the victim that her accounts were hacked and a large sum of monies withdrawn. The victim provided the hacker with her name and date of birth but no other personal information. Ultimately, the accounts were not actually hacked. The I.T. Department was made aware of this incident. #I-2023-010520 – Closed C.
