Voter Engagement
Voting is one of the many ways we can engage with our communities and make our voices heard. Just as meaningful community engagement starts with being informed and prepared, so does voting. Understanding what matters to you, learning about the issues that affect your community, and knowing what’s on your ballot can help you make informed choices.
The resources below can help you register to vote, learn when and where to vote, explore what’s on your ballot, and find reliable, nonpartisan information to prepare for Election Day.

Jersey Civic Engage
Jersey Civic Engage is a nonpartisan initiative of the New Jersey Secretary of State’s Office dedicated to strengthening civic participation across the state. The initiative encourages New Jersey residents to become informed, involved, and active in their communities recognizing that a strong, healthy democracy depends on people who are engaged and empowered to participate.
Vote.NJ.Gov
Visit New Jersey’s official voter site to register to vote, check your registration status, get important deadlines, apply to vote by mail, or find out where to vote in person as part of the early voting period or on Election Day.
In-Person Early Voting Information
New Jersey registered voters can vote early in person using a voting machine during the nine days before Election Day. Early voting gives you the flexibility to choose the day and time that works best for your schedule. Note that the early in-person location may be different than where you vote on Election Day so use this link to find a location that is convenient.
Become a Poll Worker
New Jersey is actively looking for state residents to become poll workers. You may work in any county in the New Jersey, not just the one in which you are registered to vote. Earn $21.43 per hour on in-person early voting days and $300 on Election Day.
Vote By Mail Information
In New Jersey, a voter may vote-by-mail by completing the Application for Vote-By-Mail Ballot and returning the application to their county clerk.
