Martinez, the owner of Yelida Bakes cake shop, earned a pastry certificate from Middlesex College, which set the foundation for selling her sweet treats.
Yelida Martinez, class of 2020, is the owner of Yelida Bakes, a baking business in Fords, New Jersey, that specializes in custom pastries for celebrations large and small.
Martinez earned her pastry certificate from Middlesex College, where she says she gained hands-on experience and a strong foundation in pastry techniques.
“The program also helped me understand the business side of baking, including industry standards and guidelines,” Martinez said. “That knowledge has been essential in running my business and staying compliant while delivering professional-quality products.”
