The Nursing program LPN to RN track has a limited number of seats.

Program Criteria and Requirements

Selective Health Program Information Session
It is highly recommended that you attend a Selective Health Program Information Session prior to applying. Seats are limited! Sessions are listed on the Health Programs homepage.
Application Portal
Complete an online application between August 3, 2026 – December 1, 2026 deadline.
The non-refundable application fee is $25. If you are a current Middlesex College student, please do not use your Middlesex College email address when applying.
Once you complete your Nursing application, your application portal will be activated. Your application portal will provide you with a list of required documents needed to complete your application process.
Your application portal will be reviewed for receipt of submitted documents. Additional documents may be requested during portal updates. Please review your portal on a regular basis.

Required Transcripts
Must be received by December 28, 2026.
Official Transcripts
Must be sent to Enrollment Services located in West Hall on the Edison Campus.
- High School/GED (Current high school seniors can submit midyear transcripts)
- Foreign high school transcripts must be translated by a certified translation service. (Example – American Translators Association: atanet.org)
- All Colleges and Universities (prior and current)
- Official transcripts from all institutions attended are required. If you are currently enrolled in college courses, you will be required to submit an official transcript with final grades by the January 9th document deadline.
- All applicants who attended college outside the U.S. must have their transcripts evaluated on a course-by-course basis. We strongly recommend and prefer the use of WES (www.wes.org) and ECE (www.ece.org).
College Testing Exemptions
Must be received by December 18, 2026.
College Testing Exemptions
Applicants must have completed all developmental coursework or be exempted from the exams listed below. Exemptions will be determined once your official transcripts have been received and reviewed by the Admissions Office.
- English as a Second Language (ESL) Exam:
If you have not completed four years of high school English courses in the United States you will need to be proficient on the ESL exam before taking the College Placement Exam. - College Placement Exam:
All students must take the College Placement Exam unless they have received an exemption(s). (Please review your Application Portal to ensure exemptions have been received.)
Pre-requisite Science Courses and Cumulative GPA Requirements
Must be completed by December 18, 2026.
Laboratory Biology and Laboratory Chemistry
A grade of “C” or higher is required in both laboratory biology and laboratory chemistry taken during High School or College. College level science courses will be weighted slightly higher than science courses taken at the high school level.
Cumulative Grade Point Average
GPA of 2.75 or higher on a 4.0 scale is required.
How Your GPA Will Be Calculated
If you have completed 12 or more cumulative college credits (pass or fail) your college GPA will be used.
- College GPA Calculation:
If you have at least 12 completed college credits (pass or fail) within September 1, 2024 – December 18, 2026 (Fall 2024 – Fall 2026), a recalculated cumulative GPA will be used for the GPA calculation.If you do not have at least 12 completed college credits (pass or fail) within September 1, 2024 – December 18, 2026 (Fall 2024 – Fall 2026), a cumulative GPA will be used in the GPA calculation from all colleges attended.
If you have completed less than 12 cumulative college credits (pass or fail) your high school GPA (un-weighted) will be used.
If you do not have a high school cumulative GPA or 12 completed college credits, you must earn a college cumulative GPA with at least 12 completed college credits by the December 18, 2026 deadline to be considered.
Vaccination Information
Students must meet clinical agency medical requirements and vaccine requirements.
- TDAP
- Meningitis (required under age 19; at least one dose since age 16)
- QuantiFERON blood test (TB)
- Annual Flu vaccine
- Immunity for Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella
- Hepatitis B immunization series or immunity
- Other:
COVID-19 Vaccine
As stated above, students must comply with the clinical site protocols and requirements. COVID-19 vaccination requirements may vary depending on the clinical sites and time of the clinical studies. In case of discrepancies among the clinical sites in terms of their requirements, all students are obligated to comply with whatever the highest standards are.
Middlesex College generally follows federal, state, and local health agencies. However, in case of a discrepancy, the clinical site policies and protocols override the others. There will be no medical nor religious exemptions for any of the above listed vaccination requirements. All accepted students will be required to submit their up-to-date vaccination records by August 1st prior to the Fall in which they will begin the program. Failure to provide proof of vaccination will result in forfeiture of the seat in the program and non-refundable program deposit.
