The LPN to RN Program is a pathway for Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) in New Jersey to obtain an associate degree in Nursing (A.S.). The curriculum provides students with the technical and interpersonal skills that qualify graduates with the ability to pass their National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nursing (NCLEX-RN) in just one year.

Admission Requirements:
Unencumbered New Jersey LPN License
Applicants must have completed all developmental coursework or be exempted from the following exams:
English as a Second Language (ESL) Exam. If English is not your best language, and if you have not completed four years of high school English courses in the United States, you will need to be proficient on the ESL Exam before taking the College Placement Exam.
College Placement Exam (Accuplacer). All students must take the College Placement Exam unless they have received an exemption(s) determined by an admissions facilitator.
Provide proof of high school graduation or GED. All applicants who attended a college outside of the United States must have their transcripts evaluated by an accredited third-party.
We strongly recommend and prefer the use of WES (World Education Services) and ECE (Educational Credential Evaluators).
Cumulative GPA 2.75 or higher on a 4.0 scale
If you have completed 12 or more cumulative college credits, your college GPA will be used
If you have completed less than 12 cumulative college credits, your high school GPA (unweighted) will be used
A grade of C or better is required in both a lab Biology and Chemistry course
The following courses must be completed prior to acceptance with a grade of C or better:
Anatomy and Physiology I (4 credits)
Anatomy and Physiology II (4 credits)
Introductory Psychology (3 credits)
English Composition I (3 credits)
Life Span Development (3 credits)

Students who demonstrate a grade of C or better in a professional nursing course will receive two credits for NRB 135: Professional Nursing Issues and Trends. Students who hold a current, unencumbered LPN license are eligible to receive eight credits toward their degree requirements. To qualify, students must provide official verification of licensure through the appropriate State Board of Nursing.

Nursing Care for the Adult with Advanced Medical Surgical Alterations
Individuals interested in applying to the program must have an unencumbered New Jersey LPN license. Students enrolled in the program participate in diverse clinical settings and experiences. Skills are taught and strengthened in the lab and the state-of-the-art Nursing Simulation Lab.
