The James J. Mikusi, Jr. Lobby honors the Middlesex College ’00 engineering science alum and successful IT entrepreneur who passed away in 2014
Middlesex College lobbies are more than just hallways—they are places where students study, collaborate, and build community. Recently, the Mikusi family made one of these vital spaces even more meaningful by dedicating it to James J. Mikusi, a Middlesex College alum who graduated in 2000 with a degree in Engineering Science. Though he passed away in 2014, his impact and spirit remain alive on campus.
Family, friends, and college leadership gathered at the unveiling event, celebrating both the newly-named lobby and the James Mikusi, Jr. Endowed Scholarship. This scholarship will provide financial support to Middlesex College students pursuing their academic and career goals—extending Mikusi’s legacy in perpetuity.
Mikusi’s sister, Corrine Trippetti, spoke at the dedication on behalf of her family. “As we remember and honor my brother and dedicate this lobby to him today, I want you to remember who helped you and pay it forward,” said Trippetti, paying tribute to her parents. “I promise you will feel great doing it.”
“When generous donors like the Mikusis invest in Middlesex College, the gift empowers students and impacts their families and the entire community,” said Middlesex College Foundation Executive Director Lisa Kelly. “It was touching to see so many friends, family, and former faculty gathered to honor Jimi and share treasured memories. Classmates sharing stories of the lifelong bonds bring the value of Middlesex College Foundation’s mission to life.”
The dedication ensures that Mikusi’s name will live on not only in the campus walls, but in the success stories of students his scholarship will help for years to come.
