“Diamonds and Dice” fundraising event held on May 2 celebrated 60 Years of Middlesex College while increasing support for scholarships and programs.
Nearly 200 alumni, faculty, staff, trustees, corporate partners, and community members enjoyed an evening of table games, a silent auction, and festive food and drinks as the Middlesex College Foundation held its 13th Annual Casino Night fundraising event. The annual event helps the Foundation make it possible for students to obtain a quality, affordable education at Middlesex College through scholarships and enhanced educational experiences.
The theme of this year’s event, “Diamonds and Dice,” is a nod to the year-long celebration of the 60th anniversary of Middlesex College, which was founded in 1964.
“Casino Night puts the ‘fun’ in fundraising,” said Lisa L. Kelly, executive director of the Middlesex College Foundation. “Our sponsors, our guests, and our entire community were betting on education and our students will be the biggest winners. Our ability to empower and respond to increased student requests depends solely on an engaged and supportive community. This year’s event did not disappoint, achieving an all-time high Casino Night success. This success translates into more scholarships and more support of the Food Pantry and Student Emergency needs.”
The Middlesex College Foundation was chartered in 1966 to provide educational opportunities for qualified students requiring financial assistance to attend Middlesex College. Since its inception, the Foundation has awarded $21.7 million in scholarships to help students realize their academic and career goals. Additional efforts support student basic and digital needs as well as select College programs.
“Casino Night has become a cornerstone of our efforts to ensure that every student, regardless of their financial background, has the opportunity to succeed at Middlesex College,” said Middlesex College President Mark McCormick. “This year’s event, celebrating our 60th anniversary, reflects the commitment of our alumni, faculty, staff, and community partners to creating a brighter future for our students. Through their generous support, we can continue to provide scholarships and vital resources that empower our students to achieve their academic and career goals.”
