Middlesex College Takes Platinum and Gold in Global Marketing Competition
Middlesex College won two awards and two honorable mentions in the annual Hermes Creative Awards Program, administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communications Professionals.

The College’s Annual Report 2021-2022 won Platinum in the Print Media category. Through engaging imagery and copy, the end-of-year report highlights the major accomplishments of the 2021-2022 academic year, and features the graduating Class of 2022, outstanding faculty, staff and alumni, as well as statistics regarding student body and community connections, and financial information related to the College.
The College’s rollout of its new mascot won Gold in the category of Electronic Media/Social Media/Interactive Media. The College’s multi-phased social media campaign highlighted the reveal of “Bolt the Colt” through multiple activities to build anticipation and excitement for the mascot launch event, including an online voting feature that allowed the College community to vote on the mascot’s official name and clues about the mascot that were slowly revealed on social media.
In addition to the two awards, the College received honorable mentions for the College’s new website and its social media ad campaign for its Camp Middlesex programs.
The Middlesex College website, launched in 2022, was redesigned to be more student-centric and welcoming to prospective students and their families as they navigate their way around higher education. The domain name was also changed to middlesexcollege.edu to reflect the College’s name change from Middlesex County College to Middlesex College.
The honorable mention for social media involves a 30-second video promoting the College’s summer programs for children ages 5–13. The Camp Middlesex ad was featured on the College’s social media platforms.
All four marketing creations stem from the College’s Marketing and Communications Department under the guidance of Acting Director Joselyn Quezada and the leadership of Vice President for Institutional Advancement Michelle Campbell.
