When the parking lots fill up, they will be closed off and traffic will be directed to other lots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>If you wish to save time, money (i.e. gas, tolls) and aggravation, do the following:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Plan Ahead \u2013 Use the&nbsp;<a href=\"\/visit\/\">maps<\/a>&nbsp;provided on this website to find out where your class meets. This includes temporary and\/or part-time employees. Staff members are not authorized to possess or use any other type of permit. The only exception to this rule is a temporary permit issued by the Police Department for those who already have a current staff permit.<\/p>\n<p>Staff permits are valid in any staff parking space on campus.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Parking regulations will be enforced at all times.<\/li>\n<li>Current staff permit must be displayed at all times.<\/li>\n<li>Visitors parking in staff lots must have a visitor permit that states \u201cSTAFF LOT\u201d or be subject to a citation.<\/li>\n<li>Parking regulations will not be suspended in the staff lots.<\/li>\n<li>No staff member will be eligible for more than two (2) parking permits.<\/li>\n<li>The definition of staff member to be eligible to obtain a staff parking permit is one who is assigned to work more than twenty (25) hours per week.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/p>\r\n    <\/div><!-- \/.accordion__body -->\r\n  <\/div><!-- \/.accordion__section -->\r\n<\/div><!-- \/.accordion js-accordion -->\n\n\r\n<div class=\"accordion accordion--secondary accordion--secondary-size1 js-accordion\">\r\n  <div class=\"accordion__section\">\r\n    <a href=\"#\" class=\"accordion__head\">\r\n      <h3 class=\"h4 mb-0\">Lost Staff Permits<\/h3>\r\n      <span class=\"accordion__arrow\">\r\n        <svg xmlns=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg\" viewBox=\"0 0 448 512\"><path d=\"M224 416c-8.188 0-16.38-3.125-22.62-9.375l-192-192c-12.5-12.5-12.5-32.75 0-45.25s32.75-12.5 45.25 0L224 338.8l169.4-169.4c12.5-12.5 32.75-12.5 45.25 0s12.5 32.75 0 45.25l-192 192C240.4 412.9 232.2 416 224 416z\"\/><\/svg>\r\n      <\/span>\r\n    <\/a>\r\n\r\n    <div class=\"accordion__body\">\r\n      <p><p>It is the policy of Middlesex College not to replace lost or stolen permits without charge. Most permits are lost or stolen because:\n<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>People do not lock their car doors or windows.<\/li>\n<li>Move them from vehicle to vehicle and lose them in the process.<\/li>\n<li>For whatever reason, remove them from their vehicle and put them somewhere else other than their vehicle.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Please report all lost permits to the Traffic Office at 732.548.6000 ext. 3241. Although permits will not be replaced without charge, we can still attempt to locate permits that are reported lost\/stolen.<\/p>\n<p>Vehicles found with a permit that has been reported lost or stolen will be cited with fraud, not having a current permit ($25.00), and towed at the owner\u2019s expense.<\/p>\n<\/p>\r\n    <\/div><!-- \/.accordion__body -->\r\n  <\/div><!-- \/.accordion__section -->\r\n<\/div><!-- \/.accordion js-accordion -->\n\n\r\n<div class=\"accordion accordion--secondary accordion--secondary-size1 js-accordion\">\r\n  <div class=\"accordion__section\">\r\n    <a href=\"#\" class=\"accordion__head\">\r\n      <h3 class=\"h4 mb-0\">Parking for Handicapped Persons<\/h3>\r\n      <span class=\"accordion__arrow\">\r\n        <svg xmlns=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg\" viewBox=\"0 0 448 512\"><path d=\"M224 416c-8.188 0-16.38-3.125-22.62-9.375l-192-192c-12.5-12.5-12.5-32.75 0-45.25s32.75-12.5 45.25 0L224 338.8l169.4-169.4c12.5-12.5 32.75-12.5 45.25 0s12.5 32.75 0 45.25l-192 192C240.4 412.9 232.2 416 224 416z\"\/><\/svg>\r\n      <\/span>\r\n    <\/a>\r\n\r\n    <div class=\"accordion__body\">\r\n      <p><ol>\n<li>In order to park in a space designated for handicapped persons, a registered plaque or state license plate for handicapped persons must be displayed in or on the vehicle.<\/li>\n<li>The handicapped person must be using the vehicle at the time it is parked in the designated handicapped space. Before you decide to <a href=\"\/contact-us\/\">appeal any ticket<\/a> you may have received, please carefully read the following information.<\/p>\n<p>Keep in mind that the initial appeal will be based solely on your written statement and any paperwork, photos or statements that are submitted with it. Phone calls and\/or follow-up correspondence will not be made due to the volume of appeals that we receive. It is your responsibility to submit any evidence you deem necessary for your case. Statements like \u201cI was told by\u2026\u201d are considered. A written statement by a third party does not guarantee a dismissal, but it may help your case.<\/p>\n<h5>What Might Be Accepted or Taken Into Consideration<\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>A misread permit by an officer.<\/li>\n<li>A documented medical emergency.<\/li>\n<li>Proof submitted for meter payment.<\/li>\n<li>A documented mechanical problem. You will need to add copies of your service receipts: mechanic bills, etc., with your request for review.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5>What Is Not Accepted or Taken Into Consideration<\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>Denied appeals are those that, in one way or the other, request an exemption from the parking rules and regulations.<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>People who constantly attempt exemptions to the rules compromise the fairness to the people who park properly. Appeals based on the following, or variations thereof, are bound to be denied:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cI was only there for one (two, five\u2026) minutes.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cI\u2019ve parked there before and never got a ticket.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cI thought it was a space.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cThere is no sign that says I can\u2019t park there.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cThey told me I could.\u201d Unless \u201cthey\u201d are willing to back it up in writing and have the authority over the rules and regulations.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cMy car died\u2026\u201d unless supported by paperwork.<\/li>\n<li>And the old standby: \u201cI didn\u2019t know\/nobody told me!\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/p>\r\n    <\/div><!-- \/.accordion__body -->\r\n  <\/div><!-- \/.accordion__section -->\r\n<\/div><!-- \/.accordion js-accordion -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It should be understood that parking is a privilege, not a right.
