{"id":424,"date":"2022-05-31T11:44:01","date_gmt":"2022-05-31T15:44:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/test-www.middlesexcc.edu\/academics\/?page_id=424"},"modified":"2022-06-07T06:43:49","modified_gmt":"2022-06-07T10:43:49","slug":"chemistry-science-transfer","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/middlesexcollege.edu\/academics\/science-mathematics\/chemistry-science-transfer\/","title":{"rendered":"Chemistry &#8211; Science Transfer"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The program parallels the first two years of a baccalaureate degree program at four-year colleges and universities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Graduates of the program will be able to:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Demonstrate the ability to solve basic problems in each of the major areas of chemistry in an efficient and accurate manner.<\/li><li>Conceptualize, model, and explain chemical processes qualitatively at the molecular level.<\/li><li>Demonstrate a working knowledge of basic laboratory methodologies, data analysis &amp; data interpretation to reach appropriate conclusions.<\/li><li>Perform laboratory techniques in a safe and accurate manner.<\/li><li>Demonstrate mastery of the approach and rationale of the scientific method and be able to apply these principles to solve problems.<\/li><li>Demonstrate effective written and oral communication skills, especially to transmit chemical information in a clear and concise manner both independently and collaboratively.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button btn btn--size-3\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link\" href=\"https:\/\/middlesexcc.emsicc.com\/programs\/chemistry-science-transfer-as-degree\/185536?radius=&amp;region=20%20Mile%20Radius%20Around%20MCC\">Explore Careers and Salaries<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons\">\r\n  <div class=\"wp-block-button btn btn--size-3\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.course-catalog.com\/mcc\/C\/2024-2025\/degree\/14\">Course Requirements<\/a><\/div>\r\n<\/div>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Prerequisites<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A passing score on the College\u2019s mathematics placement test for both Algebra I and Algebra II or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.course-catalog.com\/mcc\/C\/2021-2022\/course\/552\">MAT-013<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.course-catalog.com\/mcc\/C\/2021-2022\/course\/555\">MAT-014<\/a> is required for all Chemistry majors.
