Students develop the knowledge and skills needed to implement best practices and evaluate outcomes of care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The department offers <strong>two programs<\/strong>: traditional entry and the LPN to RN program. The traditional program is accredited by both the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing, Inc (ACEN) Middlesex College Associate and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.njconsumeraffairs.gov\/nur\/Pages\/default.aspx\" type=\"link\" id=\"www.njconsumeraffairs.gov\/nur\/Pages\/default.aspx\">The New Jersey Board of Nursing<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is a highly competitive program and it is imperative that you refer all program application and criteria questions to the Admissions Office, by emailing us at <a href=\"mailto:healthtech@middlesexcollege.edu\">healthtech@middlesexcollege.edu<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading bb-primary-1\">Admission Requirements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Applicants must have <strong>completed all developmental coursework<\/strong> or <strong>qualify for a testing exemption<\/strong>. Please email <a href=\"mailto:healthtech@middlesexcollege.edu\">healthtech@middlesexcollege.edu<\/a> to confirm that your exemption has been received.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Provide proof of high school graduation or a GED<\/strong>. Applicants who attended a college outside of the United States must have their transcripts evaluated by an accredited third-party credential evaluation service. We strongly recommend using World Education Services (WES) or Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have a<strong> cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher on a 4.0 scale<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If you have completed <strong>12 or more<\/strong> cumulative college credits (pass or fail), your college GPA will be used.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you have completed <strong>less than 12<\/strong> cumulative college credits (pass or fail), your high school GPA will be used.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Earn a grade of <strong>C or higher in both a lab Biology and Chemistry course<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Take the <strong>TEAS VII exam and achieve a Proficient score<\/strong>. Algebra I competency may be verified with a passing score on the College\u2019s placement test or by completing the appropriate class. Students must have a \u201cB\u201d or better in high school or college laboratory biology and laboratory chemistry.
